Hi hat cross talk

Post by CodaClef »

I am getting some pretty bad cross talk between my 14" lemon hi-hat and my 2nd ride. I can hear a rim shot in there too.
Here is a clip of what I am talking about.

I can't really seem to figure out how out to and tame it...

The ride that is being triggered is midi note 84.

Any thoughts?

If you have both pads setup well, then the crosstalk controls should be enough to make one pad doesn't trigger the other. But if one of the pads isn't setup well (you are getting double triggering for example), the crosstalk controls wlll have a hard time doing their job.

I rewatched the video, and the 'ride' below the hihat never triggers. If fact only the hihat triggers the entire time. It's possible it's one of the inputs on the your second eDRUMin that's triggering, but the first thing I would do is turn off positional sensing and bell sense for your hihat. I don't think any software application support positional sensing on hihat cymbals, and eDRUMin certainly doesn't support bell sense for Lemon cymbals.

And then there's the possibility that it's coming from your hihat pedal--perhaps it's an incorrect splash note setting? To be honest, the sound of the playing in video sounds horrible. I assume you are trying to play it that way on purpose to recreate the false triggers?
