positional sensing setting not retained after program close

Post by VisualDrumming »

Hi,
I was testing my drum on the ring setting for positional sensing and it works REALLY well on my Snare. But when I close edrumin and re-open it, the setting is not retained. Instead, it changes back to the tip. This has been happening since I got it. I just assumed that I was like, not saving the settings right because i'm always in there messing with them.

But this morning I spent an extra second to make sure it was saved to "ring". I saved the snapshot to the device. > Closed Edrumin by X'ing out of the program window. I re-opened Edrumin and instead of saying "ring" it changed back to "tip" for positional sensing. But all of the other options are retained properly.

I don't use any of the custom save options but tried it anyways, still doesn't work :(

Any suggestions? I didn't know how to search for this on the forum but I looked through what topics on positional sensing and didn't see any questions like this. sorry if this is a duplicate issue - I might not have thought of the correct search terms for this. Also sorry if I'm doing something obviously wrong that i'm not seeing! I'm inclined to think it's me because almost everything else with this module is rock-solid.

Is there a way to read the .edp files saved under the appdata> edrummin folder.
not sure if i'm barking up the right tree but my first thought was to see what the saved pre-set file actually says.
But when I open it in visualstudio, the file type is either unsupported or binary.

edits/updates:
- saved a new preset to edrummin and opened it from the windows explorer so i'm literally opening the correct file.
no matter what i do it reverts back to "tip" instead of retaining the setting for "ring"
- I have three edrumin 4, edrumin 8, and edrumin 10, I used an identical process but the behavior is the same for all three modules

The ring and tip are not mutually exclusive. It's not one or the other. By default the setting for tip is shown, but that ring setting is still being loaded even if it's not displayed.
