On the eDRUMin pedal input settings, can you click on that cog just above the velocity curve and check to make sure 'only send cc with hit' is not enabled.

It's hard to think of any feature SD3 is missing.
Yet, in AD2 there is a slider for positional sensing telling about (linear, I guess) emphasizing/volume towards 0 or 127. I other words you can balance the volume from center to edge for snare. In other words you can adjust to have equal volume center-offcenter-edge for center mounted trigger snares.
Cannot find this kind of feature in SD3 🙂

Edited: In SD3 it's possible to even set the curve for each articulation separately, which is much beyond one simple slider in AD2.

Can you try changing your polarity settings from 'auto' to 'Roland'

Sure. No change whatsoever as if the 'Auto' discovers/selects just 'Roland' polarity.

Btw. I was wrong in my earlier post reg. AD2 vs SD3. In SD3 it's possible to even set the curve for each articulation separately, which is much beyond one simple slider in AD2.
Edited and fixed.

Hi Rob,

I setup the second stand I got for your hall effect sensor. This Yamaha HS-810 stand is old but better than the one I've been using (Ludwig one that came with the Accent Combo kit from around 2008) It also has an ideal setup for adding the sensor - there's an empty threaded hole on the foot plate right near where the pedal meets the rod connector.

My unit is the ED10R1 - I probably need to "update" it to the new version to use your hall effect sensor. Is that correct?

I plugged it in for a second and it acted very oddly. Can plugging in the TI sensor cause issues for the pedal input? Maybe I'm about to find out when I plug the other stand back in.

UPDATE - back on old stand with SS49E and it's working as usual. During this I updated to 2.3.1.23. I noticed that the hi-hat pedal calibration now shows the voltage. I get 1.22 to 1.75 with my SS49E

A while back I built a 5v inline "injector" in a project box - I plugged the pedal input into the project box and it had a TRS that went into the pedal input on the ED10R1. Would that allow an ED10R1 to work with the TI sensor?

Thanks,

Doug

Ya, that TI sensor will not work with ED10R1, but you could pick up an ED4 to handle your hihat and that sensor.

Thanks for confirmation on that. SS49E is working well. Might swap our ED10R1 for ED10R2 in the future, always happy to shop at AudioFront! :D

Rob,

I received the Hall effect sensor kit from you today. Installed on an older DW 5000. I set the pedal to expression and the polarity to Roland. It’s working but the signal bounces around. Sorry not sure how else to describe that. When calibrating, the red line bounces around in the general vicinity of the open/close range. When closer to open, it bounces back and forth near the open part of the range, when near the middle, same thing. When closed, same. This translates into my VST (bfd3). When opening and especially when closing it triggers multiple open or closed samples. Wondering what I’m doing wrong.

What eDRUMin hardware are you using?
