Input sensitivity eDRUMin hardware

Post by mprinz »

Hi Rob,

did you implement that feature:

viewtopic.php?p=6873#p6873

I noticed, that the Lemon cymbals connected to the eDRUMin4s are hotter that the 2 connected to the
eDRUMin10 inputs.

Is it because of more attenuation or poor build quality/qualitiy assurance?

Best regards

The inputs on the original ED4 don't have as much range as ED10. But ED4R2 and ED4R3 have the exact same input circuitry and ED10 and therefore the same amount of range.

Ahh, ok! Hmmm, so I have to reorganize my cabling...

Thank you!

HI buddies,
hi Rob,

oh dear! It's kind of embarrassing ...

I mean, ok, the earlier discussion with the DIY snare was without having a ED10.
I ordered it in April 2021. So ... somehow I sticked to the 1st eDRUMin4 and my snare, probably due to the cabling.

Errm, so anyway:

The new input stage is fine for my hot DIY snare, and the low-priced Lemon 12" snare pad and their cymbals.
It also feels like the PS for the snares is now working better, without my resistor contructions.

All the Alesis style tom pads are using the eDRUMin4 inputs. And somehow the Alesis 12" tom pads perform better at subtle
strokes.

Hi Rob,

I just got my eDRUMin8. Just... You printend the invoice on April 14th. One week for german customs. Damn!

I definitely needed 3 more inputs.
Now - I got 8. :-)

So, you say the only difference in "performance" or "features" between ED4 and ED4R2 ED8 etc. is the
higher input voltage range?

I am thinking of switching 4 pads over to the new ED8.

Pos. sense. on cymbals etc. this is all software ... ?

Greetings

Manuel
