MIDI Expression App not working

The iOS MIDI Expression app is not working.
It loads and then the running circular arrow at top left stalls after about 1-2 seconds and just hangs. I have tried with the device connected and disconnected.
I have upgraded to iOS 14.5.1 although so far all my other apps are working fine.
Any ideas?

I am getting the same thing with the app not responding and also a message saying this device not supported by this iPad

Try using the control application on macOS to disable the keyboard interface.

Indeed there is an issue with the app--it's actually a firmware issue. I'll try to get it fixed by the weekend.

Version 2.8.6.13 (firmware version 2.8.6.12) includes a firmware fix for connecting with the iOS Control Application. Note that it's still advised to change the class compliant of your MIDI Expression to 'MIDI+Control Interface", otherwise you will run into issues if you are using iOS 14+.
