Running eDRUMin on Fedora
Hello again my fellow Linux enjoyers and eDRUMin users. Following my previous posts where I shared the packages/dependencies needed to run eDRUMin on both Arch Linux and OpenSUSE Tumbleweed (should also run on other OpenSUSE derivatives like Leap and Slowroll), I have decided to test the waters with...

Re: Running eDRUMin on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed
Well Rob, all I want is to give options to our Linux users. So at this moment, Arch-based, Debian-based and half of the RPM-based Distros are covered. Probably Fedora has the exact same packages available as well, but it would be a matter of looking into it when I have the time. For niche distros li...

Running eDRUMin on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed
Greetings! Hope you all are doing well and happy 2025! Following my venture where I managed to have the eDRUMin app running on Arch Linux (you may find the tutorial here https://www.audiofront.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=2323&p=15795#p15795 ), I have decided to have a go and make the app ...

Re: Running eDRUMin on Arch Linux
Glad I was of help, Rob.
I may also look into this on Fedora and OpenSuse, and I believe that would cover all the major distros. When I have time, I will look into it aswell.
For now, the container solution is an option, but can be a pain to setup for the less experienced.

Running eDRUMin on Arch Linux
Hello people! So, as you are aware, the eDRUMin installer seeks out for the packages mentioned in the installation script (libxcb-cursor-dev and libusb-dev) that are Debian-based package names. This limits considerably its usage on Linux as a whole, as it is exclusive to Debian-based distros like Ub...

Re: Linux - Why not Edrummin App packaged as Flatpak?
Just as a heads-up, Linux has been ready to take the world by storm for the past 30 years--that and nuclear fusion. Also my Linux apps.depend on VSTGUI which has its own dependencies on Debian I think. 6.88% of the Desktop Market if we count ChromeOS that is dropping its Gentoo roots and jumping to...

Re: Linux - Why not Edrummin App packaged as Flatpak?
Well that's really sad to read, but I somewhat understand your point. But just as an headsup, Linux is growing in the Desktop market, specially on the Content Creation side. We have companies like Presonus and Davinci Resolve supporting Linux, as the Steam Deck and the odd decisions behind Microsoft...

Linux - Why not Edrummin App packaged as Flatpak?
Hello all, Hope you are doing well. And I hope this is the correct place to add this request/question here. Given that the Flatpak format is here to stay, and is widely used accross the whole myriad of Linux Distros, I can't wonder to ask and/or suggest, is there a reason why the Edrummin app isn't ...
