FSR sensor vs potentiometer for DIY hi hat controller?
I am looking to upgrade from my expression pedal to a diy hi hat controller. I have two different builds in mind one uses a potentiometer and one uses an FSR. Which offers more realism?

I use an expression pedal with springs attached to it as a hi hat pedal and the closed hi hat was working fine for months until the other day I tried to calibrate it, now no matter what I do the closed pedal sound wont trigger. However when looking at midi event history in my DAW it is able to detect the aftertouch messages however it does not detect any midi note upon choking the cymbal

I have the edrumin hooked up into my PC, im using FL studio as my DAW, and ezdrummer 3 as my VST. Focusrite scarlett audio interface if that matters

Oh cool I didnt know thats how that worked. I thought they just used two different piezos. So if the bow is connected to the tip of the jack, the edge is triggered by a switch, aswell as the choke, what is the ring of the jack typically supposed to be connected to in a standard 2 zone cymbal with ch...

I am converting a LV cymbal to electric compatible with edrum in and I am trying to figure out how to make the cymbal choke.
