Auto Detect Expression Pedal Polarity
In this release, the polarity of expression pedals no longer needs to be manually set. Inputs now automatically detect and set the polarity.
Improved Support for Dual Footswitches
Dual footswitches can now be automatically detected by the pedal sensing system. Depending on the type of footswitch you are using, you may need to press one of both of the swtiches before it's properly recognized.
Link Footswitch Modes
Also, this release includes linked program change and control change modes that allow both switches to control a single value. For example, your can now use one switch to increase a program change value and the other to decrease it.
The on-board LED will no longer light when moving a pedal. During testing it was found that lighting the LED imparted noise in the system, affcting the accuracy of measurements, so it's use is now more limited.
MIDI Note Naming
Previously MIDI notes were named C0 to G10. With this release the naming ranges from C-2 to G8 matching industry standards.
Better support for Moog EP-3
In previous releases the Moog EP-3 was being detected as a Hihat pedal and could only be used properly by selecting the Expression pedal type in the Control Application. In this release it will now be correctly detected as an expression pedal.
Improved Hihat / Note Modes
These modes have been updated to provide more consistent and dynamic velocity measurements, with adjustments to ensure that note are generated closer to the end of a pedal's travel.
Stability and Bug Fixes
- Hihat / Note modes will now correctly follow the indicated channel setting.
- Fixed OSX crash when calibrating.
- Fixed OSX crash when moving Expression Curve Control Ring into the top-right or bottom-left corners.
The switch logic of footswitches has changed. Previously the first switch was the measurement of the tip of the TRS jack, and the second switch was the ring. As of version 2.3, this has been reverse to match industry standards.
For Dual CC mode, in previous versions the short press triggered the second CC, and a long press triggered the first CC. This was a bit awkward, so in this version the behavior has been reversed.
