I use a woodwind modeling synth call Respiro that supports 14-bit CC (0-31, 32-63) for it's breath pressure input. It may also work for some other parameters (in addition to pitch and breath pressure).

EDIT: I just checked and Respiro does not support NRPN to control breath pressure. Only CC MSB/LSB via CC 0/33 ... 32/63.

Because Respiro is a very important synth with which I was most wanting to try using high-resolution CC, I'd need to wait on ordering the MIDI Expression iO until standard hi-res CC is supported.

I'm wondering if (one year later) you might still be considering adding the ability to output 14-bit values as standard CC (in pairs) in addition to NPRN.

As I mentioned, one important instrument I use, called Respiro, only accepts 14-bit expression via standard CC and doesn't support NRPN.

It's more feasible today than it was last year. I'll look into it.

Looks like it'll be easy enough. Are there any software applications that support 14bit control change messages that I could use for testing?

UPDATE: Looks like Reaper supports them, so I'll use that.

You can test 14bit Control Change messages in version 2.9.3.4 BETA.

Thanks so much, Rob. I needed this feature before I would purchase. If you confirm that you will implement this, and it is working on your end, then I will order a MIDI Expresssion iO immediately!
