using trial in cubase 12 problems

hi all.. need help here...
i try to use DSPT trial as vst in cubase 12... and plug TRS Cable for my mesh tom pad into scarlett 18i20 2nd.. but rimshot aint working tho i turn ON left n right volume bar and activate rimshot button .. but the title in bottom rimshot range stil OFF.. am i missing something here? coz im pretty sure ive read some where that the trial has full version function only limited 20 minute time use in a row.... im intend to use DSPT as temporary until ED10 available again. just to get nice center, rim only and rimshot articulationsfor toms like i had in ED8. thanks for enlighment

Audio interface channels are mono, and you are trying to feed it a stereo signal with a TRS cable, so that will not work. You need to split your TRS into two mono signals and feed them into two channels on your interface.
