How might this work with a Keith MacMillan BopPad?

Post by cj@cliffordjay.com »

Hi gang,

I'm excited to find Audiofront and think it's got the tools I need to make the small footprint kit I need for my home studio. I've been playing a KMI BopPad with DAWs in my laptop and Addictive Drums. I like the pad and can even use the Zone app to make different zones in the BopPad's quadrants. But their Zone app is bare bones to say the least and I can't even save presets.

Would DSP Trigger be able to read Zone info on a BopPad? Would I be able to save presets for various types of kits?

You should grab a MIDI Snooping app to see if each of the quadrants emits a separate MIDI note or not. My guess would be "yes" in which case any software would be able to tell the difference.

Mac has the "MIDI Monitor" app, I'm sure other platforms have something simular.

However I also notice that the pad says it has MPE features. As far as I know none of Audiofront's stuff supports MPE, so you'd be losing some data most likely.
